Lekki Deep Seaport project will surely create 112,000 jobs to Nigerians upon its completion.

The Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo, as said with confidence that the prospects of Lekki deep seaport project would surely crate over 112,000 jobs for Nigerians and significantly increase the nation’s tonnage.
He said this during a press interaction with Journalists on Sunday in Jalingo, Taraba State
Sambo said that the port, which is second in Nigeria after Onne Deep-Sea port would bring more tonnage and revenue to the port and the country.
He further said that the project would impact positively on the nation’s economy.
According to him,“Lekki deep seaport is significant because the largest ships in the world can berth at the Port. That means, more tonnage, more cargoes, more revenue for the port and for the country, more economic activities. And above all more jobs like I said, over 112, 000 both direct and indirect jobs will be created as a result of the creation of the Lekki deep-sea port.”
He continued and said,this will be in the first few years and as time goes on and as activities expand, the number of the jobs will even multiply and that is what is good for us. For as more jobs we have, the more our ability to put food on the table of many Nigerians.”Describing the seaport as the first of its kind to be in operation in Nigeria, Sambo said the deep seaport project would impact positively on the nation’s economy.
