AIG Abiodun Alabi Takes Over as AIG Zone 2 Command.

The Zone 2 Command of the Nigeria Police Force which sees to the affairs of the Lagos and Ogun State Command has ushered in a new Assistant Inspector-General of Police who will take charge of the Nigeria Police Zone 2 Command,he assumed office at the Zonal HQ, Onikan, Lagos on Friday,17th of February 2023.
The new Assistant Inspector General of Police is AIG Sylvester Abiodun Alabi now in charge of Zone 2.
AIG Abiodun Alabi while addressing the press said “I have worked here before for 2 years when I was CSP so I am not a new person here. What I achieved in the last 1 year as Lagos CP, we didn’t have any major crisis though we had small challenges which were not insurmountable.”
The AIG who promised to work diligently to over see the work of the Zone and prevent crime and criminality as he did in Lagos Police Command.According to him,”I am going to replicate the same here. Lagos State and Ogun state under my command will have a new lease of life”.
On the crisis rocking some parts of Lagos, he said”I don’t see it as special,occasionally, we have to experience such situation where people want to ventilate their anger,as far as we are able to manage it very well which we are doing,We will sustain and strengthen it so that we can have security.”
AIG Alabi also made know that the Zones and Command has deployed effectively to all financial institutions not only banks to ensure that hoodlums don’t take advantage of what is going on to attack banks,calling it part of their statutory duty.
AIG Alabi was posted and redeployed to head Zone 2 command after the promotion and redeployment of the immediate past AIG Zone 2, DIG Bode Adeyinka Adeleke now, Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Present at the taking-over ceremony was the immediate pass AIG Zone 2, who handed over to DIG Alabi, he was promoted and now Deputy Inspector General of Police,DIG Bode Adeyinka Adeleke ,DIG Operations,Force Headquarters,Abuja,Dr.Ayodele Ogunsan,the Board Member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF),and Senior Officers of Zone 2 Command.
