Eshilokun visits Ilubirin flood control station under construction; commends Lagos Government.

The Senators-Elect for Lagos Central Senatorial district and the current Deputy Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni, on Sunday, 30th April, 2023, paid a visit to the site of the sump and pump station designed by the Lagos State Government to ease flood control in some parts of Lagos Island.

Concerned about creating succor for the people of his constituency by eradicating the incidence of consistent yearly flooding that put lives and businesses at risk on the Island, the Senator-Elect, in the company of the Director General of his campaign council, Hon Wahab Alawiye King (Also the chairman of SUBEB in the state) and some other members of the council like Mrssrs Rasheed Giwa (former L.G. commissioner), Hakeem Adeniji (Rtd P.S.), Rasaq Lawal, Moroof Ojora and Kunle Kadiri, paid an on the spot assessment visit to examine the level of work done on the project, bearing its importance to the well being of Lagos Island and its environ.

At the site, the Senator-Elect and his team were conducted round the site by Engineer Adegbite, Director, Lagos State Drainage services. The Director explained, in details, the level of work done so far and assured that the sump and pump station will, hopefully, be completed in the next two months.

He further explained that the station will ease flooding in areas like Idumagbo, Jankara, Epe street, Anikantamo and many other areas on the Lagos Island.

The Senators-Elect expressed his delight and commended the seriousness with which the state government is handling the project. He hoped that the project will be finished as scheduled, so as to make living on the Lagos Island a better treat.
