Eshilokun’s Senate Marine Committee visits Sanwo-Olu

Senator Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni, the Chairman Senate Committee on Marine Transport, led members of the committee to pay a courtesy visit to the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu at the Lagos House Marina, on 10th October, 2023, as part of activities of the Committee’s ongoing interactive session with stakeholders in the Marine economic sub-sector.

The Committee was warmly received to the State House, by First Lady, Her Excellency, Mrs Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwoolu, before the commencement of engagement with Mr Governor.

After the meeting, the Chairman of the committee briefed the press on salient issues discussed at the meeting.

He informed that Mr Governor was so pleased to receive the committee, as he acknowledged the importance of the sub sector being supervised by the committee, given that the President just added exploration of the Blue Economy to the responsibilities of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy.

The Chairman also stated that Mr Governor sought the support of; and collaboration with the National Assembly, through the committee, to ameliorate challenges being faced by the State, whilst also pledging his support for agencies under the purview of the Committee, as long as they are within his remit.

Earlier in the day, the committee had taken presentations from other agencies and stakeholders under its purview, as part of the interactive session.
