Grand Installation Of Chief Ayo Falade As The Oluloro Of Iloro Ekiti.
….As his brother, Afolabi Falade applauded the coronation and seek the people’s support for him.
It was a grand and glamorous event on Saturday, 3rd of February, 2024 when dignitaries, traditional rulers, politicians, sons and daughters of Ikoro Ekiti trouped out to witness the Iwuye ceremony of the Oluroro of Ikoro.
The colourful event took place at Ęso Obe Cooperative High School, Ikoro and was presided over by HRM Oba Olarewaju Adebanji Adeleye,Atewogboye 11, Olukoro,the paramount ruler of Ikoro Ekiti.
Also present was Oba Joseph Adebayo Adewole,the Owa Ajero of Ijero,Ekiti.
The event showcased the rich cultural heritage and traditional values of the Ekiti people.
Speaking with the Oluloro of Ikoro,Chief Ayo Falade an Agricultural Specialist with the US Customs had this to say:
“I was born and raise here in Ikoro Ekiti and obtained my University degree in ‘Agricultural Economics’ at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
He went further “I worked in Mobil oil before I travelled out of the Country to the United States of America, where I got employed by the US Customs as an Agricultural Specialist.
I have been out of the Country for 25 years, but didn’t forget my homeland; as I always come to Nigeria.
Chief Falade went on to say that despite the perceived insecurity in the Country, he doesn’t do without coming home, as “home is home”. This is the mindset that made him vie for the stool of the Olukoro. Speaking further on the coronation, he said that he came home for his Iwuye celebration.
The Iwuye ceremony ran over a week. It was full of fun fare, highly colourful and grand. It started on Wednesday, 24th of January the 2024 with the re-burial of his late Mother, whose body he exhumed from the church cemetery to his house.
The following day, he went to the Palace for Royal blessing and returned to his house for the commencement of the mandatory seclusion period (Ipebi), that preceeds the Iwuye ceremony. He was in seclusion for seven days.
High Chief Ayo Falade, the Oluloro of Ikoro Eiti, said the title is in recognition of the good job he has been doing in his town.
According to him, “I’ve been helping out and making a lot of contributions to the development of the community and the people. That is why am honoured with the title”.
He continued, “It’s good to be good, to be focused and always be ready to give back to your community in different ways.That is why the turn out to celebrate with me was awesome and that gives me Joy”.
He adviced the Government to take security as a priority, saying “if there’s no security of life and property, no one will want to come to this Country.”
In his opinion, Oluloro’s younger brother, Mr Afolabi Falade described his brother as a good man.
He said, “my brother is a nice man, who loves every body known or unknown. He is a man of the people, loved by d entire family.
He further said,My brother loves his home town so much.
He further extolled the virtues of his brother as a development oriented leader who loves his community unconditionally.
He concluded by advising the Oluloro to keep up the good work and continue to strive for the development of the community; while calling on the people of Ikoro to support him to do more things to the benefit of the people and the town.
