The Magodo residence of the late Alhaja Wulemot Olushola Lawal-Salawu stood as a poignant haven earlier today, where Islamic clerics led prayer sessions and imparted wisdom through lectures, all in loving memory of the esteemed matriarch.

Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu ‘Dullar’, the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, stood alongside his siblings, extending warm embraces to a gathering of family, friends, and associates who all convened to honor their beloved mother, fondly remembered as Mama Equal Rights.
He said,”Her legacy, embodied by the flourishing food canteen, Equal Rights Restaurants, she founded and nurtured for decades, continued to thrive even after her passing”.
The ambiance was enriched by the presence of distinguished political and community leaders, whose attendance underscored the profound impact of Alhaja Wulemot’s life and principles.
Notable figures like Apostle Peter Oyewusi, Alhaji Fatai Bakare, and Hon. Ademola Olisa-Adefalujo graced the occasion, alongside the supportive presence of the APC Apex women in Somolu.
Also present was Hon. Wole Diya, former House of Representatives Member for Somolu Federal Constituency, Hon. Abiodun Orekoya, representing Somolu Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, and Hon. Williams Lawanson, the former Sole Administrator of Somolu Local Government, honored Alhaja Wulemot’s memory with their presence.
Furthermore, the collective solidarity of the entire executive council of the local government, led by Hon. Yomi Osunkoya, and the eight councilors, reflected the enduring unity and respect Alhaja Wulemot inspired within the community she so deeply touched as her children gave out enough to eat and drink as well as scores of free Holy Qur’an for reciters.
