Eshilokun floors Gomez, PDP at tribunal; granted reliefs sought.

It was a moment of joy for the followers of Distiguished Senator Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni, the Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial district at the Red Chambers of the National Assembly, today, 24th July, 2023, when the tribunal ruled in favour of the relief sought by his lawyer, Barrister Wahab Shittu, in the petition instituted by Mr Francis Adewale Gomez of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), against his victory at the polls.
The PDP Senatorial candidate has approached the tribunal to invalidate the election of Senator Eshilokun, claiming irregularities in the election; with Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) as the first.
Senator Eshilokun, the second and All Progressives Congress (APC) the third respondents respectively.
At the tribunal, the two reliefs sought by the erudite barrister Shittu was unanimously granted by the 3 man panell and the ruling given in favour of Senator Eshilokun.
To further punish the plantiff for this negligence, Barrister Shittu asked the panel to award a five million naira (#5,000,000.00) cost in favour of his client. Lawyers to the 3rd defendant also demanded a three million naira (#3,000,000.00) cost against Mr Gomez.
Many of Senator Eshilokun’s followers, friends and political associates were present when the ruling was given. Among them are Hons Rasheed Giwa, Owolabi Elijah, Gbenga Oyebode, Rotimi Johnson, Olaolu Omosuyi and Muheez Babatunde; among others.
