Somolu LG Chairman,’Dullar’Host Year 2024 Budget,Stakeholders Forum.

Hon.Abdul Hamed Salawu,the Chairman of Somolu Local Government popularly known as Dullar,coordinated the 2024 Budget Stakeholders Consultative Forum.

Under the watchful guidance of the Alhaji Tajudeen Tella-led Community Development Committee (CDC) and representatives from over 30 Community Development Associations (CDAs) present at the forum also expressed appreciation to the Executive Chairman while articulating additional developmental requests for their communities.

According to Owolabi ‘Ajimomuya’ Oseni,Chief Press Secretary,Somolu Local Government.The event which took place within the local government area witnessed a momentous occasion .

He stated, “Diversity was a cornerstone, with active representation from Igbo and Hausa-speaking communities.”

While appreciating the revenue board,he said,the participation of Hon. Mike Oikeh-led revenue team from the Somolu Revenue Board underscored the financial dimension of the interactive forum.

Also present were religious leaders, including Imams from Somolu Muslim Community and Pastors from Somolu Christian Association of Nigeria, representatives from political, community, traditional, and professional sectors, who also joined in demonstrating a comprehensive engagement that included the National Union of Road Transport Workers, artisans, and individuals with disabilities.

Chairman Salawu outlined key priorities to focus on for 2024, emphasizing specific streets like Shiro Street, Adetayo Osho Street in Fadeyi, and Albert, Olu Ajisegbede, and Emmanuel Streets in Ijebutedo.

An exciting revelation emerged as Chairman Salawu informed the forum about the ongoing transformation of Somolu Local Government Secretariat into a four-floor building with a multipurpose hall, poised for commissioning before mid-2024.

He likewise expressed gratitude to stakeholders and the community members acknowledging their pivotal role in the administration’s accomplishments.

The presence of Hon. Afolarin Olubiyi (Chief of Staff), Hon. Ayodele Afolabi (Secretary to the Local Government), and other executive council members, alongside the Hon. Yomi Osunkoya-led Somolu Legislative Council members and heads of departments and units, showcased a unified commitment to progress.

Contributing to the positive atmosphere of the event,stalwarts of the ruling All Progressives Congress lauded Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu’s leadership at the forum.

The coordination by media professionals Samiat Oki-Shoye (PRO of Somolu Local Government) and Owolabi ‘Ajimomuya’ Oseni (Chief Press Secretary to the Council Chairman) added finesse to the proceedings.

The Council Manager Mrs. Arinola Shodipo in a heartfelt vote of thanks affirmed her enduring connection to Somolu, pledging to remain close to her home even after her retirement in a few weeks.
