Senator Eshilokun,Appointed Chairman Senate Committee On Marine transport

The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has appointed Distiguished Senator Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni, representing Lagos Central Senatorial district, as the Chairman of the Senate committee on Marine transport.
This appointment was announced at the floor of the Senate on the 7th of August, 2023, to the delight of most of the Senators present, especially those representing the Centre of Excellence at the Chambers.
Senator Eshilokun was the immediate past Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly for two consecutive tenures, having also served in the house between 1999 to 2003. He is therefore a very experienced Legislator of international repute and sure to achieve great success chaperoning the committee.
He also has executive experience, as a two term Chairman of Lagos Island Local Government, after his first stint with the Lagos State House. He is therefore a competent hand to head such an important committee of the Senate.
Meanwhile, he has also been appointed as a committee member in the following committees: Aviation, Public Accounts, Army, Customs, Excise and Tariffs, Cooperation and Integration in Africa NEPAD, Environment and Water Resources.
Others are Local content, National Identity and National population, Rules and Business, Youth and Sports, Legislative compliance and Senate services.
