Ogun Police Arrest Man Seen Assaulting his Wife in Viral Video.

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a man, Fatai Quadri, after a disturbing video showing him physically assaulting his wife, Rukayat Quadri, went viral on social media.
According to the statement released by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Omolola Odutola,the incident occurred on September 15, 2025, at the couple’s residence in Illese-Ijebu. In the footage, Quadri is seen repeatedly punching his wife, causing visible injuries. Officers from the Igbeba Divisional Police Headquarters in Ijebu Ode acted swiftly to arrest the suspect following the public outcry.
According to police investigations, the attack stemmed from a marital dispute over allegations of infidelity. Authorities revealed that Quadri had allegedly transferred ownership of a jointly built 10-room en-suite apartment to another woman, triggering the violent confrontation.
The victim is currently receiving medical treatment for her injuries. Meanwhile, the suspect remains in police custody and is expected to be formally charged once investigations are concluded.
Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, Ph.D., condemned the incident, reiterating the Command’s zero tolerance for domestic violence.
“The Command will not hesitate to bring the full weight of the law upon anyone who engages in acts of domestic abuse,” he stated.
Police urged victims and witnesses of domestic violence to report such incidents without delay. “Silence only empowers perpetrators. Timely reporting ensures protection and justice,” the statement emphasized.
