205 New Constables Graduate in Ogun as IGP Urges Service with Empathy and Integrity.

A new chapter in community policing began in Ogun State as 205 newly trained constables officially joined the Nigeria Police Force during a vibrant Passing Out Parade held at the Police Training School, Iperu Remo.
Representing the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD, delivered a resounding charge to the graduates: serve with empathy, fairness, and unwavering dedication.
“You are not just enforcers of the law, you are guardians of trust, justice, and peace,” the IGP said in his message. “Your training has equipped you with the tools to serve with courage, loyalty, and integrity. Now, it is time to translate that into meaningful action on the streets and in communities.”
The six-month training course, which emphasized modern policing techniques, community partnership, and human rights, is part of a broader reform agenda under IGP Egbetokun’s leadership. With this latest graduation, the Force has trained and deployed 20,000 constables nationwide, with approval secured for 30,000 more in the near future,a strategic step under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to strengthen national security and close manpower gaps.
As part of the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to community-oriented policing, the newly commissioned officers will be deployed to their respective local government areas within Ogun State. This approach, the IGP noted, is intended to deepen public trust, improve local intelligence gathering, and foster cooperation between police and citizens.
Commandant of the training school, ACP Aderemi Yusuf, psc, praised the resilience and discipline of the recruits. He highlighted the diverse components of their training, which included professional ethics, legal studies, physical combat, musketry, and respect for civil liberties. “These young officers are ready not only to enforce the law but also to uphold the dignity of every citizen,” he stated.
Outstanding performances were recognized during the event. RC Akinsoji Suliat was awarded Best in Drill (Parade), while RC Oludare Olubusola, RC Farombi Victor, RC Sotunde Kolade, and RC Akinwande Tomiwa received awards for academic excellence. RC Ishmael Gbenga and RC Olukoya Olubukola were jointly honoured for their leadership skills.
The parade drew a notable audience of dignitaries, including retired and serving military and police officers, local government officials, and security experts. Among them were AIG Olusola Subar (rtd), Special Adviser on Security to the Ogun State Governor; Navy Captain O.A. Adesiyan; and representatives from the Nigerian Army and other sister agencies.
As they march into duty, the Ogun State Police Command extended congratulations to the new officers, urging them to remain disciplined, uphold integrity, and prioritize service to humanity.
