Ogun Police Arrest Four Suspected Cultists in Ilaro, Recover Pistol, Axe and Stolen iPhone.

Operatives of the Ilaro Division of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested four suspected cultists for assault, armed robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm, following a complaint lodged at the division.

Stated in the report released by the Ogun State Police Relations Officer,DSP Oluseyi B Babaseyi anipr,the suspects ,25 years old Samson John,28 years old Olufowora Michael,25 years old Odeh Samuel Ejeh and 28 years old Olajide Jeremiah were taken into custody after a report was made to the station on 16 April 2026 at about 11:30pm.

According to the complainant, the suspects, Samson John and six others allegedly stormed his residence earlier that day at about 1:00pm, assaulted him, threatened him with an axe and stole his mobile phone, an iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Police said that following a swift response and investigation, officers apprehended the four suspects and recovered a locally made pistol, an axe, suspected charms and the stolen iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The suspects remain in police custody as efforts continue to trace the remaining fleeing members of the gang. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.

Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, commended the Ilaro operatives for their prompt response and professionalism, and reiterated the command’s “zero tolerance” stance on cultism and other violent crimes.
