The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, has reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to the protection of Chinese nationals and investments operating across the state.
CP Ojajuni made the assurance while receiving a delegation from the Chinese Consulate during a courtesy visit to the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta
According to the statement released by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer DSP Oluseyi B Babaseyi anipr, the delegation, led by the Deputy Consular General of the Chinese Consulate, Mr. Wang Yue visited the Command as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic ties, deepen security cooperation, and enhance collaboration between the Consulate and the Ogun State Police Command.
Speaking during the visit, CP Ojajuni described the relationship between Nigeria and China as longstanding and beneficial, noting that both countries have maintained 55 years of diplomatic relations marked by cooperation in trade, investment, and development.
The police commissioner also recalled his previous role as Commissioner of Police, INTERPOL Annex, Lagos (National Central Bureau), stating that the experience broadened international law enforcement collaboration and strengthened partnerships in tackling transnational crimes.
CP Ojajuni assured the delegation that the command would continue to provide adequate security for Chinese nationals and protect business interests in Ogun State. According to him, the police remain committed to securing critical infrastructure, industrial corridors, and major investment hubs within the state.
He added that Chinese investments plays a strategic role in Ogun State’s economy, stressing that the Command would sustain intelligence-led policing, increased police visibility, and proactive crime prevention measures to boost investor confidence and ensure uninterrupted economic activities.
As part of efforts to support policing operations, the Chinese Consulate donated communication equipment, including walkie-talkies, to the Ogun State Police Command to improve emergency response and operational coordination.
During the visit, Mr. Wang Yue also presented a congratulatory letter to CP Ojajuni on behalf of the Chinese Consulate, commending his appointment and expressing confidence in his leadership and professional experience in policing and international cooperation.
Wang praised the Ogun State Police Command for its professionalism and dedication to maintaining peace and security, particularly in areas where Chinese businesses operate. He also appreciated the warm reception accorded the delegation and reaffirmed the Consulate’s willingness to sustain collaboration with the Command.
The visit underscored the growing diplomatic and economic ties between Nigeria and China while highlighting the importance of security cooperation in promoting peaceful coexistence and economic growth.
