Ogun Police Nab Security Guard for Alleged Thief of Motor Spare Parts.

A 32 year old security guard, Friday Ayuba has been arrested by the Police Officers of Owode Egba Division of Ogun State Command for allegedly stealing motor spare parts belonging to his employer in Ita-Asu Village, via Owode Egba.
According to the information released by the Police Public Relations Officer,PPRO DSP Oluseyi B.Babaseyi anipr, the arrest followed a report received at the division on May 30, 2026, at about 6:00 p.m. from the manager of the affected company. The manager informed officers that the suspect had earlier been apprehended by operatives of the Ogun State Command’s Quick Response Squad (QRS) at the Sagamu Interchange along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway while allegedly attempting to move company property without authorization.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Ayuba, an employee of the company, was found in possession of several motor spare parts suspected to have been unlawfully removed from the company’s premises. Police recovered four air controls, two air boosters, two engine seats, and two fuel pumps, all reportedly identified as property of the company.
During interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed to the theft. Officers subsequently visited the scene for further investigation and documentation, while the recovered items were secured as exhibits.
Police said the suspect remains in custody as investigations continue and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the vigilance of the company’s management as well as the swift and coordinated response of the Quick Response Squad and officers of the Owode-Egba Division, which led to the recovery of the stolen items and the arrest of the suspect.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the command’s commitment to safeguarding businesses, critical assets, and residents across the state through intelligence led policing and proactive crime prevention measures.
