The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, has continued his strategic familiarization tour of police formations across the state, visiting the Ikenne and Isara Area Commands to reinforce community policing and strengthen partnerships with traditional rulers, government officials, corporate organisations and community stakeholders.
The tour, which forms part of the Ogun State Police Command’s efforts to improve public confidence and enhance crime prevention, featured engagements aimed at fostering intelligence-led policing and improving operational effectiveness across the Remo axis.
CP Ojajuni, accompanied by members of the Command Management Team and the Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Ogun State, Comrade Abdullahi Lawal, began the visit at the Ikenne Area Command. He was received by the Area Commander, ACP Sadiq Mana, alongside the Executive Chairman of Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Asimu Jamiu, President of the Ikenne Development Association, Otunba Olufemi Allen, and other community leaders.
Addressing stakeholders, the police commissioner stressed that effective policing depends on active community participation. He urged residents to continue providing timely and credible intelligence while reaffirming the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
As part of the tour, CP Ojajuni visited Remo Stars Football Club, where he met with the club’s President, Hon. Kunle Soname, OON. He commended the club for its contributions to youth development, sports and economic growth, describing youth empowerment as a vital tool in preventing crime and promoting peaceful coexistence.
The commissioner also paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Odemo of Isara, Oba Peter Oluwole Ogunbayo (Otete III), where he sought continued support from the traditional institution for intelligence-led policing and community security initiatives. The monarch reaffirmed the commitment of the traditional council to supporting the Nigeria Police Force in maintaining peace across Isara and neighbouring communities.
During the visit, CP Ojajuni, accompanied by the Odemo of Isara, the Onipara of Ipara, Oba Taiwo Taiwo, and other stakeholders, inspected the permanent site of the proposed Isara Area Command headquarters. He encouraged continued stakeholder support to ensure the timely completion of the project, noting that the facility would enhance operational efficiency and improve policing services in the area.
The delegation also witnessed the presentation of a patrol vehicle donated to the Isara Area Command by the Isara Growth and Prosperity Foundation. CP Ojajuni described the donation as a model of community partnership, saying it would improve operational mobility and strengthen security response across the command.
At the Isara Area Command, the commissioner was received by the Area Commander, ACP Nurudeen Ali Amodu, the Executive Chairman of Remo North Local Government, Hon. Sodade Ayodele Olumuyiwa, traditional rulers, community leaders and police personnel.
Speaking during an interactive session, CP Ojajuni described security as a shared responsibility requiring sustained collaboration between the police, government, traditional institutions and residents. He commended stakeholders for their support while urging officers to remain disciplined, professional and proactive in carrying out their duties.
The commissioner also commissioned the temporary office of the Isara Area Command, describing it as a significant step toward expanding police presence, improving operational coordination and enhancing response time within Remo North and surrounding communities.
The tour concluded with a courtesy visit to the palace of the Ologere of Ogere, Oba James Obafemi Saliu (Kankanbiina II). During the visit, CP Ojajuni praised the monarch’s commitment to peace and community development while requesting continued support for intelligence gathering and community-based policing. The traditional ruler, in turn, commended the leadership of the Ogun State Police Command and pledged the continued cooperation of the people of Ogere in promoting peace and security.
CP Ojajuni reiterated the Ogun State Police Command’s commitment to strengthening community policing through sustained stakeholder engagement and intelligence-led strategies to address emerging security challenges across the state.
He also expressed appreciation to traditional institutions, local government authorities, corporate organisations, community groups and residents for their continued support in maintaining peace and public safety.
