The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 43 suspects during a raid on a criminal hideout in the Isheri Olofin area along the Lagos Ibadan Expressway, bringing the total number of suspects prosecuted under its ongoing Operation KOSAYE to 76.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer?DSP Oluseyi B Babaseyi, operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit carried out the operation at about 11 p.m. on July 7, 2026, following intelligence alleging that the location, opposite the Kara Cattle Market, had become a base for suspected cult related activities, drug abuse, prostitution and other criminal acts.
Police said the operation led to the arrest of 43 suspects, comprising 28 men and 15 women. During a search of the premises, officers reportedly recovered substances suspected to be cannabis, “Loud” and other hard drugs, as well as 10 mobile phones, four power banks, a rechargeable hand fan, a cross-body bag containing two ATM cards and a National Identity Card, alongside other items believed to be linked to criminal activities.
The command said all the suspects have been arraigned before a competent court and remanded at a correctional facility pending the determination of charges against them. The charges include alleged criminal conspiracy, membership of an unlawful society, unlawful assembly, conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace, disorderly conduct, unlawful possession and use of suspected cannabis, prostitution, operating and managing an unlicensed brothel, and living on the earnings of prostitution.
Police added that some of the suspects are assisting investigators with information relating to other criminal cases, while follow-up operations are ongoing to apprehend additional suspects and dismantle other alleged criminal networks.
The command noted that the latest prosecution raises the total number of suspects charged to court under Operation KOSAYE to 76, comprising 33 suspects prosecuted during the initial phase of the operation and the 43 suspects from the latest raid.
Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni commended the SWAT operatives for what he described as their professionalism and operational effectiveness, saying the latest raid represents another milestone in the implementation of Operation KOSAYE.
He reiterated the command’s resolve to sustain intelligence led policing and continue raids on locations identified as criminal hideouts, drug joints, cult enclaves, and other black spots across the state. The commissioner also urged residents to support the police by providing timely and credible information to aid crime-fighting efforts.
