The Ogun State Police Command has announced a significant deployment of personnel in preparation for the Ikenne,Sagamu,Remo North Federal Constituency Bye-Election, scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

During a briefing for election duty officers at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD, emphasized the necessity of professionalism, civility, and neutrality in the execution of their responsibilities. He stated that the police force, in coordination with other security agencies and additional manpower from Zone 2 Command in Lagos, has established robust security measures aimed at preventing election-related violence and ensuring a safe environment throughout the electoral process.

Voters are urged to comply with electoral laws to maintain the credibility and transparency of the election.
Prohibited activities include campaigning, vote-buying, distributing flyers, and displaying political stickers at polling locations.

In order to facilitate a smooth voting experience, movement in areas where elections will take place will be restricted from midnight to 4:00 PM on August 16. Police patrol vehicles, stop-and-search teams, and other operational units will be strategically positioned to ensure an effective and incident-free exercise.

The Ogun State Police Command has called for the cooperation of all voters and issued a warning to those with disruptive intentions. Any efforts to interfere with the election process will be met with stringent action.
