The new Boss, highlighted a commitment to fundamental principles laid out by the Inspector-General, including zero tolerance for abuse of power and violations of human rights.
He stated, “Discipline remains the bedrock of the Nigeria Police Force,” and made clear that indiscipline will not be tolerated within the ranks.
The Commissioner encouraged officers to interact with the public respectfully and professionally while urging citizens to reciprocate this courtesy. “See us as partners,” he said, underscoring the importance of collaboration in maintaining law and order.
To ensure accountability, Oiajuni announced the launch of a robust Complaint Response Unit (CRU) accessible via various platforms, including phone and social media. This initiative aims to increase transparency and public trust by allowing citizens to report police misconduct easily.
Additionally, Ojajuni mentioned the operational Gateway Shield App and Control Room for real-time intelligence gathering, and the deployment of the X-Squad and Police Monitoring Unit to reinforce internal discipline among officers.
