Ogun Police Arrest Woman Repainting Stolen “Korope” Mini Bus,Manhunt Launched for Three Accomplices.

A 22-year-old woman has been arrested by the Police men from the Omu Ijebu Divisional Headquarters after foiling an apparent vehicle theft and illegal repainting operation in a bush at Omu-Ijebu on Sunday, 19 April 2026.
Police said operatives acting on credible intelligence discovered three men and a woman illegally repainting a Suzuki mini bus, popularly called a “Korope,” along Ikhasi Road, Kajola via Omu at about 4:00 p.m.
The vehicle, suspected to have been yellow originally, had been repainted white and blue in an apparent attempt to alter its identity.
On sighting officers, the suspects fled in different directions. 22 years old Azeez Khadijat was arrested inside the abandoned vehicle.
The bus, which bore a Lagos State registration plate, was recovered and secured at the station.
A search of the scene produced three mobile phones, a power bank, a can of paint, sandpaper, and a Type‑C charging cord, all believed to belong to the fleeing suspects. Preliminary investigations indicate the mini bus was allegedly used in criminal activity in Lagos State and was being repainted to evade detection.
Efforts to track down the three fleeing suspects have been intensified. The matter is under investigation and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further probe and possible prosecution.
Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, praised the swift response and professionalism of the operatives and vowed that all fleeing accomplices would be brought to justice.
