CP Ojajuni Hosts UNILAG Geosciences Delegation, Warns Students Against Social Vices.

The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, has urged students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) to remain committed to academic excellence and avoid social vices capable of destroying their future.
CP Ojajuni gave the advice while receiving a delegation from the Department of Geosciences, UNILAG, during a courtesy visit to the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
The delegation was led by Professor Akinmosin Adewale alongside lecturers and students of Geology and Geophysics as part of a geological fieldwork excursion in Ogun State.
Speaking during the visit, Professor Adewale praised the police commissioner for his commitment to maintaining internal security and promoting community policing initiatives across the state. He noted that exposing students to security institutions helps in building civic responsibility and awareness among young people.
In his remarks, CP Ojajuni commended the students for their dedication to education and encouraged them to remain disciplined, focused, and determined in pursuing their goals.
He warned against involvement in cultism, drug abuse, examination malpractice, and other criminal activities, stressing that such behaviours could ruin their future and threaten societal peace.
According to the police commissioner, discipline, integrity, and hard work are essential ingredients for lasting success and national development.
Members of the command’s management team also addressed the students during an interactive session. The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration, DCP Ibrahim Abdul; Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department, DCP Gbenga Adeoye; and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Administration, ACP Akinmoladun Olu Moore, urged the students to be law-abiding, patriotic, and responsible citizens.
They also encouraged the students to support community safety efforts and serve as ambassadors of peace within their campuses and communities.
The visit provided the students with insight into police operations and highlighted the importance of collaboration between academic institutions and security agencies in promoting a safer society.
Delivering the vote of thanks, the students’ representative, Mr. Adeniyi Oluwatobi, expressed appreciation to the police commissioner and the command’s management team for the warm reception and valuable engagement.
