AMJON Delegation Visits Ports Authority Police, Commends Security Improvements in Western Ports.

The Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, CP Oluwatoyin Iyabode Agbaminoja, on Wednesday received executive members of the Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria (AMJON) during a courtesy visit at the Command Headquarters.

Led by AMJON President, Mrs. Vera Osokpo, the delegation praised the Command for its consistent efforts in strengthening security, safety, and operational efficiency across Nigeria’s western ports. The journalists highlighted that enhanced security measures within port facilities have improved the ease of doing business and boosted stakeholder confidence in the maritime sector.
Responding, CP Agbaminoja expressed appreciation for the visit and underscored the importance of the media in shaping public perception and promoting transparency within the industry. She reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to building a stronger partnership with maritime journalists to improve information sharing, raise public awareness, and ensure accountability.

The Commissioner also emphasized the need for collaboration in tackling misinformation and promoting accurate reporting, noting that effective communication between security agencies and the media is essential for addressing challenges and showcasing achievements within the maritime domain
She assured stakeholders and the public of the Command’s continued dedication to maintaining a safe and conducive environment for maritime operations.
