Police Arrest Suspected Armed Robber in Lagos, Recover Human Body Part, Firearms, Stolen Items

A 21 years old suspected armed robber,identified as Samson Onilewaji has been arrested by the Police Officers from the Lagos State Police Command during a routine stop and search operation along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, they recovered a suspected human body part, firearms, and other items believed to have been stolen.
Following the information released,the Lagos State PPRO SP Abimbola Adebisi anipr, officers intercepted an unregistered commercial shuttle bus carrying six occupants during the operation. A search of the vehicle and its passengers led to the arrest of Onilewaji, who was allegedly found in possession of a suspected human right hand, two locally made pistols, one live cartridge, two axes, a Point of Sale (POS) terminal, and five ATM cards.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly confessed to recently robbing three individuals of their belongings, including the recovered POS terminal and ATM cards. Police said efforts are underway to identify and contact the victims so the recovered property can be returned.
Authorities also disclosed that investigations are ongoing to determine the identity of the owner of the suspected human hand, the circumstances surrounding its possession, and its intended use. Detectives are further working to identify and apprehend other suspected members of the criminal gang linked to the suspect.
The police said the suspect will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
Reacting to the arrest, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to tackling violent crime and other criminal activities across the state. He urged residents to remain vigilant and continue providing timely and credible information to the police to support crime prevention and enhance public safety.
