Ogun Police Arrest 4 Suspects,Recover 4 Firearms,17 Cartridges in Multiple Operations.

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested four suspects and recovered four firearms during a series of intelligence led and proactive operations across Mowe, Sagamu and Odeda local government area of Ogun State between April 14 and April 18.
According to a statement from the command, operatives at Mowe Division arrested 36 year old Opeyemi Anuoluwapo on April 14 after a tip off about a suspicious man loitering at the Mowe bus stop.
A search of his bag produced a locally made single barrel pistol, one expended cartridge and charms. The suspect reportedly confessed to membership of the Eiye confraternity.
On April 17, Quick Response Squad (QRS) officers on stop and search duty at the Lafarge axis along Sagamu/Ogijo Road intercepted a Bajaj motorcycle ridden by 30 year old Asaye Ajibola.
A locally made single barrel gun loaded with nine cartridges was recovered and Ajibola was arrested after he failed to give a satisfactory account of the weapon.
A second QRS interception at the same axis on April 18 led to the arrest of 49 year old Adedeji Olufemi, who was found carrying a locally made double barrel gun with eight cartridges.
Also on April 18, police responded to a shooting at the Sawmill area of Osiele under Odeda Division. Preliminary investigations indicate a local vigilante member, identified as Mutiu Sadiku, allegedly discharged a firearm accidentally while returning from the farm, injuring three people. Sadiku was apprehended and the firearm was recovered in collaboration with the Amotekun Corps.
The injured victims were taken to medical facilities and are reported to be stable and responding to treatment.
All suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCIID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command CP Bode Ojajuni, praised the professionalism and proactive efforts of the officers involved and reiterated the command’s commitment to intensifying intelligence-driven operations against unlawful possession of firearms, cultism and other violent crimes.
